Dr. Klein was the Chairman of the first congress on Medical Tourism worldwide which was held in Munich in 2007. From 2010 onwards, he organized the EMTC (European Medical Travel Conference) series of conferences under his own management with Michaela Seebacher. The EMTC took place in Venice, Barcelona and Berlin with growing success regarding participant numbers, reputation and business impact. The last conference in Berlin in 2012 hosted 500 participants and 60 exhibitors. From the beginning, their goal was to bring transparency, quality and innovation into this market and help the industry to network for the benefits of the medical traveler.
EMTC values the exchange of practical experience and pragmatic entrepreneurial approaches more than attempts of purely academic knowledge transfer. B2B meetings have a safe place at the EMTC events.
For EMTC, ‘Entrepreneurial’ means customer orientation; the focus is the patient. The mission for EMTC conferences is connecting people to health solutions!
For 2013, EMTC is coordinating with Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions to launch the International Medical Travel Exhibition and Conferences (IMTEC). The IMTEC will integrate the know-how and experience from these two events-industry giants to create the largest international event in medical tourism to serve all aspects of this $100 billion multispectral industry.
The potential impact of a global medical tourism event on this scale is exponential, especially in terms of its reach into the medical tourism market.
The core mission for IMTEC is to continue the pursuit of transparency, quality and innovation as well as the exceptional quality of the speaker academy and the advisory board.
Words from the organisers
